William Hennessy
Violin was Head of Strings at the University of Melbourne from 1997 – 2006, Violin Faculty member Australian National Aademy of Music 2007 – 2014 and has been Artistic Director of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra since 2006. He continues to perform as soloist and recitalist. His former students feature prominently in professional musical life in Australia and abroad. William Hennessy remains committed to the development of future generations of musicians.
Elinor Lea
Currently the Associate Concertmaster of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 1999. At the age of 19, while studying at the University of Adelaide, she joined the ASQ and remained with the quartet for 9 years. She was awarded an Australian entenary Medal for Services to Australian Society and the Advancement of Music. Elinor has appeared as both soloist and concertmaster with the TSO. She is raising a family, teaches privately and since 2013 has been the founding leader of the Huon String Quartet.
Keith Crellin
He was Head of Strings at the University of Adelaide from 1999 – 2015. He now divides his time between teaching, being Artistic Director and conductor of the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, Artistic Director and conductor of Corpus Medicorum and an increasing number of performing activities.
Janis Laurs
He was Principal Cello of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra from 1998 – 2014 and has continued in his role as Senior Lecturer in Cello at the Elder Conservatorium where he is a member of the Elder Trio. Janis Laurs is a member of the New England Ensemble, Director of the Adelaide International Cello Festival and Founding Artistic Director of both the Adelaide Youth Orchestra and Mt Buller Chamber Music Summer School.
